How Do I Order Your Products?

You may order product by simply calling Ecological Coatings at 518-383-9585 and speaking to one of our technical staff. Your project success is important to us and by speaking to our staff we can discuss your application and recommend the right product for your needs. That's why we don't just accept orders online. We'll only take a few minutes of your time but provide you with all the specifics of the coating, surface prep, mixing, application, and maintenance so you are well informed before you buy.

How Long Does It Take To Ship Out My Product?

Our products are made-to-order in small batches and colors so your coating arrives fresh. All of our coatings have shelf lives which average one year. From the time your order is placed to shipping is normally three business days.

Will Instructions Be Included When I receive My Product?

Absolutely ... Your order will include:

Product Data Sheet(s) with surface prep, mixing, application and clean-up instructions, data on coverage rate, mil thickness and other specific coating specifications.

M.S.D.S. (Material Safety Data Sheets) Always read MSDS before opening any container. 

Spray Guidelines: Most of our coatings can be sprayed, rolled or brushed. These guidelines give you a starting point for tip sizes and pressures for conventional as well as airless equipment. 

What If I Have Additional Questions About My Application Or Using The Coating ... Can I Call For Help?

Yes ... We don't just sell you coating. We want your application to proceed flawlessly and our technical staff is at your service to guide you through surface prep, mixing, application, clean-up ... right through final cure and back to service. You can call, e-mail or fax us with any questions you may have.

How Long Will Un-Opened Product Last?

If your product was never opened, it should last up to a year if stored between 50-72 F and shaken once every couple of months. Pigments settle quickly and can harden on the bottom of the bucket in the "A" Component. For epoxies, the "B" Component contains a catalyst and cross-linker that will separate over time and gel. It is best to order your product shortly before you will use it and calculate the amount needed carefully so you won't have overage.

Do I have To Mix The Entire Kit Of Material At One Time?

No, each of the Product Data Sheets will provide you with mix ratios for all of the two or three part products we make. You should cap and seal the remainder of the un-used portion of each component as soon as you mix and pour out the amount to be used. Opened and sealed portions of the coating may last months if stored and shaken as discussed above (How Long Will Un-Opened Product Last).

I Have Catalyzed My Material And It Has Thickened During It's Pot-Life ... What Can I Do?

Most of our epoxy-silicone coating once catalyzed will thicken as the pot life becomes less, especially in hot conditions. You can always add a small amount of clean drinking water to the mix during its normal pot life (usually one hour). Add a very small amount at a time as it doesn't take much to thin the coating. Do not add more than 5% of water by volume to the coating. 

Will The Finish Of My Epoxy-Silicone Dull Over Time?

All epoxies tend to chalk over time, especially when exposed to UV light. This chalking does not prevent the coating from performing up to its potential.

My Coating Seems To Have Lost Some Of It's Non-Stick/Slip Properties, What Do I Do?

Our Epoxy-silicone, Non-stick Coatings may lose some of it's non-stick/slip properties in time due to abrasion, chemical exposure or length of time in a process. You can replenish your coating by lightly abrading the surface with light sandpaper or scotch-bright pad, washing the surface with acetone and then applying a thin coat of the same product.

Can I Return Un-Opened Product Or Cancel An Order That Has Already Been Processed?

We do not accept returns of unused product. As mentioned above, our products are made-to-order in small batches and colors and each product has a shelf life. We never mix batches for any order, so all your product is uniform and fresh for maximum shelf-life. All of our Data Sheets give accurate coverage rates, so please accurately determine the square footage of your project before ordering. Once product has been manufactured and the the order is processed we do not issue refunds of any kind with the exception of material replacement for a defective product.
